An Embraer E195 operating on the evening of Sunday, February 18, 2024, Air Serbia flight JU324 Belgrade - Dusseldorf returned to the airport in the capital of Serbia due to a technical problem.
The Serbian publication Tango Six states that the pilots entered the runway from the wrong intersection, and the length of the runway (about 1,300m) was insufficient for takeoff.
As a result, the aircraft reportedly struck at least one landing instrument pylon in close proximity to the runway and suffered serious damage.
The pilots later returned to Belgrade airport, and several flights that were to land in the Serbian capital were diverted to other airports in the area.
The emergency services waited for the aircraft to land at the end of the runway and later escorted it back to the gate as you can see in the picture below.
The Aircaft involved is the E195LR with registration OY-GDC (204).
