Landing on closed runway

BRAZIL - The incident took place at Boa Vista International Airport, Brazil. Shown is how an Embraer 110, registration PT-SFS, races right past a truck on the runway. A driver of another bus manages to drive his vehicle to the side of the runway just in time. A serious collision was avoided as a result. No one was injured in the incident.

The Boa Vista airport has one runway with a length of 2,700 meters. Part of the runway was closed at the time due to maintenance. Both satellite images and video show that the closed section is marked with large white crosses, which should prevent just such incidents. So why the Embraer landed too early is still unclear. According to some, the aircraft made a precautionary landing and did not take into account the work on the runway.
