KOREA - Korean Air has finally confirmed the order for 33 Airbus A350s announced last month. The South Korean airline signed for six A350-900s and 27 larger A350-1000s, which are intended to operate long-haul flights.
Korean Air does not yet fly the A350 itself, but the company is in the final stages of acquiring Asiana Airlines, South Korea's second-largest carrier. That airline does already fly fifteen Airbus A350s, and has fifteen more on order.
In the coming years, Korean Air expects to add fifty A321neos, ten Boeing 787-9s, twenty Boeing 787-10s and thirty Boeing 737 MAX 8s to its fleet, in addition to the aforementioned A350-900s and -1000s.
